Going Green For Developers is No Longer an Option

The long term benefits of green building in both residential & or commercial activities has for to long been ignored. I for one, live in a home owner's association neighborhood that forbids visible solar panels or residential wind turbines. These restrictions must be written out of HOA agreements & while there're still lawyers out there, we might as well start challenging the current restrictions. At the point, we have no choice. Home owners should start inquiring about these options with their HOA's & not let in to the bulling that will no doubt come.
The ultimate responsibility, from this point on, will be shouldered by cities & local governments. They have the ability to change things within 6 months if they so desire. Their direct actions can save not just their cities & citizens millions of dollars, but the stress of having to pay a bill each month. Sadly, with every bit of good news there're twists. Many local governments are tied in somehow to their local utilities & or they have mutual business relationships.
The reduction in power needs will also mean a reduced source of income to the utility companies, which is likely a cause of concern for their operations. Clear? I for one do not really care & will be fighting my HOA in court if necessary in order to place a few solar panels this coming summer. If you have to do it your self: remember it is in your best interest to take care of your family or those you build for. Going green isn't just a term any longer it is a wise marketing decision.
