Windmills, wind turbines, wind generators. They're all the same thing & any of them can assist you reduce your energy bills & help save the environment. Wind energy is free of pollutants & is a readily renewable resource. And so... Since you only have to pay to get it installed, you can benefit from the savings for a lifetime.

Of course, wind energy isn't for everyone. Certain conditions need to be met in order to get best service from any form of wind energy:

* You should have a property of at least one acre. More acreage will need more wind energy. Less acreage isn't a feasible space for a windmill.
* The average wind speed in your area should be at least 11 miles per hour. Anything less than that, & a windmill will not actually be easily able to generate enough power

If you're unsure about these, check with a real expert to make certain you make the right decision for your home.

Wind power systems are generally made up of a tower to hold the blades & five blades to catch the wind & turn it into usable energy. The height of the tower is greatly dependent on the wind speeds in your area. If you live in a low-wind speed area, you will probably need a taller tower. People who live in high-wind speed areas, such as a beach, can generally make do with a shorter tower.

The wind is caught by the blades & converted into clean, free, renewable electricity for your home. On windy days, excess power can be captured & stored for later use. And so... So far so good. When the air is calm, you can be too.
