I just finished reading the "Green Collar Economy: How one solution can fix our two biggest problems" by Van Jones. As the founder of a job board & blog that focuses on green ideas & green careers, I read almost every book that is related to the topic. This book is one of the best out there & it is not surprise because in my opinion Van Jones is one of the best speakers, authors & advocates for the green job movement. I just heard him speak at the Powershift Conference & I rushed out to pick up his book. I am glad I did.

This book is very well written & delivers a concise & compelling message. The basic message of the book is that to reducing our dependence on oil & other fossil fuels, we will be saving our planet & also saving our economy by creating a new green collar industry & along with that millions of jobs.

What I like best about the book is that the author focuses on the solutions & not the problems. The author has some tremendous ideas that even though hard are not impossible to implement. Another great part of the book is that at the end the author gives a comprehensive directory of resources & businesses that are part of the green jobs movement. It would have taken me weeks to accumulate all those resources on my own.

In closing, this is a must read for anyone that is in the green collar industry or anyone that is looking to break in.
