The greenest purchases are often nothing at all, there are plenty of products which would compare badly to nothing, just think about some of the things you have put in the bin recently.

People should use organic’s as much as possible. Support your own town or close by instead of going to the grocery stores that ship in everything for everywhere, one the use a lot of gas in distributing semi-trucks everywhere and two its horrible for you, its all processed and made to make you eat as much as you want when you want, never making you feel full. look at Project Earth on the Discovery Channel
bad for the environment… all the corn that is growing… the fertilizer pollutes the water that everyone drink, all barrels of oil the farmers use for there tractors, all the ground that they are ruining because its deprived of nitrogen from cows not being grazed on it that they cant grow anything in anymore, and all the corn they are stuffing into our diet with out us knowing.

Household cleaners are a great place to start. We have become obsessed with sterilizing and sanitizing everything and we are damaging our own health and the planet at the same time. Here are a few things to avoid.
Almost all products that says antibacterial contain triclosan which can produce dioxins which is toxic. It’s over use has created resistant strains of bacteria.
Bleach- Chlorine bleach is a poisonous gas, when used with hot water or sprayed it is easily inhaled where it damages lungs and mucous membranes. When it goes down the drain it produces organochlorines which are suspect carcinogens. Studies show chlorine bleach also contain immune system, reproductive andneurologicall toxins.
Phosphates, usually found in dish and laundry soap causealgaea bloom when they reach the water ways which strip water of oxygen and create dead zones where aquatic animals can’t survive.
These are just a few

Buying (new) things is harmful to the environment. Manufacturing (plastic – oil), packaging (plastic – oil), and shipping (diesel fuel – oil) all harm the environment.
In short, the thing to avoid is supporting the manufacture of new things (by purchasing) when reusing old things works just as well.

This is going to help but it wont. My wife and I use products that are made from all organics are not harmful to the enviroment in any way. They replace our normal cleaners but are just as effective. This is how we started to go green and it is workign great. If you want more information on it please visit http://www.themomteam.com/bushfamily.
