Why don’t we see more GREEN FRANCHISES that will accelerate the green business movement at large?

We do. Its just they can never compete with non green businesses as they can make more things cheaper and ultimately the majority of people would choose affordability over “green” as there are more important things customers are dealing with. The green business movement is not popular, and it is a popularity contest after all.

Define what’s “green” ?
I saw a company making clothes out of Bamboo……oh, that sounds soooo green…doen’t it?
Turns out that they processing of Bamboo was so intensive to actually make it a comfortable item to wear that it created more pollution during the process than regular cotton.
So sometimes you need to ask…..what makes it green ?
There may be a few businesses here and there, but if you waiting for some big push for “green” jobs, youll die of boredom before they come. Spain tried to introduce a green jobs movement and in the end, for every green job they created, they lose 2.2 private sector jobs. And of the green jobs created, only 1 in 10 were permanent or long lasting.
You can call around today and you’ll find a few companies, like solar panel installers, etc, but there aren’t all that many, and with the statistics set forth by Spain and how slow the Obama administration has been going in regards to actually keeping the promises he made. You probably won’t see a big push any time soon….if ever.
