Looking for a product review on green cleaning products.?
If you have used cleaning products (paper towels, laundry detergent, ect.) by brands Seventh Generation, Ecover, and/or Method, I’d love to hear some feedback. How affordable, effective, and eco-friendly did they prove? (I’m considering making this change in my own home.) Thanks!

So far I haven’t found any product that isn’t as good as a conventional product. I’ve used 7th generation toilet paper, paper towels (I usually use cloth), and laundry soap. I’ve used method dish soap. I’m still waiting to run out of dishwasher soap to try a greener brand. For cleaning bathrooms and kitchens I use vinegar and baking soda. I use the baking soda like you would use comet, I wet the surface and sprinkle it on and wipe it down with a sponge. I rinse it and spray it with vinegar, I’ve done this for months, no funky smell and no mold, plus these things work great to unclog a hairy drain. I use soap and water to clan all my kitchen surfaces then use vinegar to get a streak free shine. If I have a spot that needs to be scrubbed I use the baking soda as a paste and let it set for a few minutes. I have all stainless appliances and vinegar works great on them too. I also use vinegar as a fabric softener in the rinse cycle. I line dry my clothes.

I’m using Wintree laundry detergent right now and I like it better than traditional brands. All of the 7th Gen and Method products are comparable to mid or upper level traditional brands in effectiveness and mid level in price. I’ve never tried Ecover. So far the only “green” product I’ve used that I didn’t like is Tom’s toothpaste.
I also use baking powder and vinegar like whs mentioned. To clean the microwave I micky a teaspoon baking powder in a cup of water then wipe down with a damp cloth.

Most of it is just a trick.. One of there favorite is venegar and baking soda. Mix together and it will foam and release CO2 ,but what do U think U have now. There is every thing is acid, basic and salt. If u got a good balance the it is salt. Mother nature does this all the time. If U have some very strong HCL which is a bad thing. Mix it with Caustic soda to a PH of 7 . How cam we dispose of it. U can dump it in the river as it is table aslt and water.Know what U are working with and what it taks to neutralize it.

Seventh Generation tends to make really good products. I use their toilet paper and trash bags (which put Hefty brand to shame). The company that I have come most to appreciate is Sun and Earth. You can’t find them in a store, you simply have to go to sunandearth.com to buy them. They always have good bundle deals where you can get practically everything for like $40 bucks. All of their stuff seems to work just as well as the chemical brands you find in the store.

I use the 7th generation laundry detergent & dish soap. I love them, and they are affordable and just as good as chemical products. I use microfiber cleaning cloths and mops for everything else (including the windows). You don’t need anything but water with microfiber.
Can’t get much greener than that!
