Do you deny that the oil spill is the result of not investing enough in green energy?
There are all kinds of problems with an economy dependent on oil. Why do we act as though the gulf oil spill is the first disaster because of the oil industry.

If we invest in Green Energy we will have less of these incidents in the future. If we don’t, we will not survive on this planet.

Yes, I do. The spill itself was the result of a lack of adherence to federal regulations. Subsidies in green energy would not have stopped it. They two are correlated perhaps, but not related at all.
@liberal bottom:
Considering how only 104 nuclear reactors in 2006 produced 20% of the total electricity produced in the US, nuclear energy is a viable option.

For cars, electric cars are also viable. The technology exists today to make them efficiently and in mass quantities.

while you are out hugging trees today, imagine how many would have to be cut down to make way for solar panels and wind mills, or how many valleys would be flooded to make way for a new dam.

Yes, I deny it. The enviro-wackos are responsible for pushing the rigs so far out that stopping a leak is next to impossible.
Specifically, what “green energy” do you envision as a replacement for oil? Can’t name anything can you? Typical liberal; always able to criticize but never able to offer a solution.

Its partly to blame while some environmental regulations are also to blame. Why drill that far out in the gulf anyways when we have closer oil that would be much easier to monitor and fix if there was a problem? Also though to blame is the oil industry and the government not putting a halt to some bad practices. Certain technologies have been bought out by the oil industry to keep profits up, such as an engine that was able to get 60 miles to the gallon and would work on 75% of todays cars. Also burying electric cars even when a new technology battery came out that allowed up to 120 miles on 1 charge.
Of course can also blame Americans for demanding bigger and more powerful cars then they need along with every American thinking they need their own car.

OIL = MONEY. In the 70′s there was a period time when American people could only buy gas on odd or even days depending on matching the last digit of their license plate. There was outrage and concern then and proponents of alternative energy sources spoke out. Their warnings were unheeded. Fast forward 40 years. We are paying the price for greedy oil companies and lawmakers who profit from big oil. The bp disaster is what happens when corporations are greedy and will stop at nothing to make that money! An investment in Green Energy is a necessity. Americans have been told it is not possible to make a great car that does not run on gas. We have been told there are limitations to Green Energy. We have been told that we need oil to survive. We have been told, “No, You Can’t.” This is a nation of inventors, brilliant people who CAN make Green Energy and renewable energy work for us. We have to break the strangle hold that big oil has on our government and our lives. IF we survive the bp oil disaster, we MUST CHANGE.
